This blog is about my client Professional Piping Services, Inc. In order to  share this information with you, I needed to educate myself a bit. My web searches led me to the website for Contractor Campus.

Contractor Campus' website explained that a Florida Underground Utility and Excavation Contractor provides services in constructing, installing, and repairing piping systems. These might be on public property or may belong to a private individual. The service might include excavation of the area or other methods such as directional drilling, auger boring, trenchless tech and others. The systems which they service may include sanitary sewers, water distribution systems, storm sewers and utility lines from the main system all the way to a customer's meter. The aforementioned website goes into more detail than I'm covering right now.)

Services to piping systems which are an integral part of a fire suppression system are not covered by this license.

In order to receive a Certified Underground Utility Contractor’s license, Florida requires specific experience and education. The document referenced in my research mentioned five options:

1. Earn a four year degree in construction related studies from an accredited college and have a year of proven experience in the proper category.
2. Work one year as a foreman and complete at least 3 years accredited college-level study.
3. Work in the field for a year, work another year as a foreman, and complete 2 years at an accredited college.
4. Work for two years, another as a foreman, and complete one year of accredited college courses.
5. Work 4 years in the field, of which at least 1 year was as a foreman.

Mr. Cimbora has worked in the industry for over 6 decades! He has authored many papers on the topic of industrial pipe maintenance and has been involved in educating new generations of contractors.

I'm writing this for piping professionals in Orlando Florida, but this information is fairly universal.
